There was always at least one customer asking if someone was selling fudge at today’s show.
I decided to experiment with a fudge recipe that I had got from my sister in Sudbury. She always made tasty fudge…how hard could it be, right? Well, let me tell you, I think I threw out more than I kept in those earlier years. There was no way I was selling fudge that I couldn’t personally eat! My excitement quickly turned to frustration as recipe after recipe failed the test. I realized quickly how finicky making fudge could be and learned a couple of valuable lessons along the way… First, it burns quickly if cooked too hot however doesn’t set if not cooked hot enough and secondly, it usually falls in a few different categories – sweet, too sweet, way to sweet and OMG sweet!
My fudge is always made fresh and packaged using food safe packaging. It can be bought in single 1/4 lbs containers or by the batch for those that wish to cut it up themselves to be used at events etc… Send me an email with any requests and I’ll get back to you with how I can help.
Finding that perfect recipe or 2 that can be altered in a variety of ways to have enough flavours to put together a show has been a journey to say the least. I feel very happy with the outcome and look forward to seeing you at an upcoming show.
